SAIL Employment Opportunity

Independent Living Transition Advocate – part-time position. This advocate is responsible for direct service delivery of the five core services; Advocacy, Independent Living Skills Training, Information and Referral, Peer Mentoring and Transition to people with disabilities in Macon County. The advocate also provides Transition Services by presenting the program to nursing facility staff, identifying eligible transition consumers and providing assistance in locating appropriate housing, furnishings and independent living skills training to ensure the consumer’s successful transition to living independently in the community.

Qualified individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

Wages begin at $16.80 an hour.

Personal Assistant Training – Nov. 21, 2023

SAIL, Soyland Access to Independent Living, is hosting a Personal Assistant Training on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 10:00 am –1:00 pm at the Marshall Library located at 612 Archer Ave., Marshall, IL 62441. The names of attendees who successfully complete the training will be placed on the Personal Assistant State Registry. People with disabilities, who are living independently and wish to hire a personal assistant, can request a P.A. Referral List to identify prospective employees for hire. Anyone 18 years of age or older and interested in working as a personal assistant is welcome to attend this training. Social distancing will be practiced, and face masks are optional.
